Walls. Break 'em down.
I find myself getting frustrated that I have to look elsewhere for insight and information.
At the time I'm writing this we have 63 registered users and only 19 of them actually using our forums.
Personally, I'd like to be able to talk about my decks here, strike up a friendly conversation and even be able to organize a duel or two to happen.
I'm not sure whether it's something about not being familiar with the forum structure or sheer ignorance that's preventing this.
The nine realms theme we have, while neat is more than confusing to people I'm sure.
So before we set off to appoint leaders, ranks and what not, could we just make things simple and easy to use?

Re: Walls. Break 'em down.
First off, a leader has been established since the flourish of this team *cough* *cough*
Hopefully with art added tomorrow (or the next day), that should help at least a bit into making the forum a bit easier to spectate in. Although, our theme need to be featured; it's what makes this team as successful as it is.
You might view us not as successful, but keep in mind that compared to other teams whom may have taken years to get noticed, we are rising gradually.
We have made it to rank 1, created a forum for our team (not many clans/teams have that, do they?), established a successful competitive and administration system, and all the other major/minor achievements this team has come to accomplish.

Re: Walls. Break 'em down.
Yeah I'd ask to give some patience. The art might make things a bit more intuitive. I'm also going to make a forum map that will be accessible from the tool bar. I'll also be modifying the category descriptions to assist with making things much more intuitive. I do appreciate the feedback ^^
Today I have added a deck profile section and a number of other tools in the Barian World. You can post and discuss your decks there ^^
If you just want to talk about stuff in general, not necessarily related to Yugioh, the common's area is still a thing ^^ But for real time chatting, the chatbox is unparalleled. If you would like to organize a duel with someone, you can do it via conversations in the Barian World's forums OR you can make a post in our Duel Arena (in Muspellheim) to challenging anyone by posting a time and application (DN or Devpro) and waiting for someone to take you up on it. ^^
Your feedback was valuable though~ I'll strive to make things 30 times more intuitive~ but hopefully the forum map and revised Category descriptions help the most. Thanks and you're welcome~

You need quotations on that.
And not EVERYTHING may require simplicity.

I see no one else complaining about it being difficult.
A little brain would figure it out with ease

I can't force them to do so. I try my best to motivate them, but i can't hold each one's hand. I don't have much time.

Re: Walls. Break 'em down.
I'm workin on it you XD Gimme a sec bros. I'm a 1 man army here ;3 As I said I'ma do my best to make it more intuitively navigable ^^
Now gimme time to do that XD I'm workin on other stuff atm. But I heard you out weekend~
But keep in mind the 9 worlds thing is a part of our team's theme. We value both that and the user experience, so we're going to try and meet both ends. Appreciate the feedback though~

Re: Walls. Break 'em down.
Sometimes you got to appreciate. Not every team have a site. In the past, there used to be fire that drives the society of Yugioh; not anymore. You need to understand that Zein and i can only go so far at this certain time period.

Re: Walls. Break 'em down.
How are thing now?
Oh. I just saw your thing. I'll take some notes on it~ now that there is a bit more ease to it I could add the 2 more worlds. Depends on how I work it out. But thanks for the idea~
My only criticism with yours is that with things really simplified, it does become easier to navigate but there's that nag in me that will hate how topics that could stand alone are being bottle necked together in one forum.
But I did change the forum settings so that all the individual forums are visible from the home page. How's that working for you?

Re: Walls. Break 'em down.
Not gonna lie, had I know how to work a forum back when I started, our forum might look a lot more like that, but I was a one man band with technical difficulties xD
But I do like the idea of Alfheim housing orientation and maybe introductions to.
I don't know just yet what I'd do with Asgard and Helheim just yet, but for certain I'm likin what you did. About a month and a half ago I woulda took it and ran like hell with it XD Nice work! You got the point of simplicity across~ but leme know if the current configuration is too much for you. In the mean time I'll take a few notes and rename some things here and move some things around there.

Re: Walls. Break 'em down.
Also thanks for your input~ Noticeably little people are giving me constructively criticizing feedback. Just letting you know you are helping ^^
Re: Walls. Break 'em down.
As much as I like Zexal, those worlds don't belong with the nine realms.
Though really 7 realms if you wish to get technical, Hel is essentially part of Niflheim (Nifhel believed to be the lowest regions of this realm.), then Svartalfheim and Nidavellir are basically the same lands, home to both the Dark Elves and the Dwarves respectively.
In terms of how we use these... the realms are...
( 1 ) Asgard - Realm of the Aesir (The Top Realm)
This realm strikes me as the one to lead in front of others and set the path for what is just and righteous. In my eyes it would also serve as the head of news from all realms.
Though actual matters of concern would require a follow up.
( 2 ) Alfheim - Realm of Light Elves / Fairies (Above Midgard)
Often considered "guardian angels", Light Elves have a presence over nature and the like. It might cost me my life if I was ever in such a place, but I'd assume that Light Elves are a friendly and welcoming lot. Perfect for Introductions and Orientation.
( 3 ) Niflheim (Nifhel) - Land of Ice and Cold, the darkest and coldest realm. (North of Midgard)
Land of the dead.
( 4 ) Vanaheim - Realm of Old Gods (Vanir) (West of Midgard)
Vanir, known for their age, fertility, wisdom and their ability to see the future.
Totally the place for Rankings and any talk of such.
( 5 ) Midgard - Realm of Humans
The Middle Realm where humans be doing mortal things. What can I say... we're a plague on the Earth and it's resources.
Anyways.. I originally thought of us as general discussion but perhaps it'd be more apt to have Format / Deck Discussions here. Even events.
( 6 ) Jotunheim - Realm of Giants (East of Midgard)
Giants are a menace to both Humans and the Aesir. Supposedly. Loki is a pretty good description himself here though not a giant, it is his origin. There's a lot of Lore surrounding Giants.
To cut it short, I reckon this should house General Discussion. If not that, then for sure any clan discussions or forums.
( 7 ) Muspellheim - Land of unending Lava and Fire. Realm of Demons. (South of Midgard)
Thought to be a source of chaotic energies.
I see nothing in particular to put here besides war requests.
( 8 ) Svartalfheim / Nidavellir - Realm of Dark Elves / Home of Dwarves (Below Midgard)
Seen as the counterpart to Light Elves, the Dark Elves are spoken about as being something evil, to counter everything about the Light Elves. Sometimes told to be Goblins. I somewhat doubt they are anywhere near as friendly.
I had coined this in the forum towards Tech Discussion / Card of the Day. Seeing things from another perspective could be more than useful here.
Dwarves, sometimes mentioned as Black Elves they can be confused with the Dark Elves. They are well known for their craftsmanship.
Something strange? Don't work good? Who ya gonna call? Why not call the guys who made Mjolnir?
Definite Support.
Now, because Svatalfheim and Nidavellir are basically the same place, I see them as interchangeable depending on our tastes.
( 9 ) Helheim (Hel) - Realm of the dishonored Dead (The Bottom Realm)
Technically separate realms, Helheim and Niflhiem are often merged.
Archives feel right at home here. It'd also be neat to dine here.
I totally encourage you to read up on the Nine Realms. I've got a feeling I have some of these mixed up with Marvel stuff. Although a lot of that holds true.

Re: Walls. Break 'em down.
I knew about the 9 realms xD I came up with the idea of incorporating them you know ;3
Barian World and Astral World were meant to sort of combine Alfheimand Asgard (above earth) and Helheim and Svartalfheim (Below Earth) so that the forum wouldn't have so many categories and be a bit easier to navigate back then (because at the time I had other plans for Asgard and Helheim). That wasn't explaing because -----> the team's theme and how we're tying a bit of Yugioh into it was never officially explained (yet). Good eye noticing that though~
Also, Alfheim and Svartalfheim are "in-between" worlds, essentially forming the border between Earth and the upper and lower realms. And the idea is that our members travel from midgard (being normal members) either up to Asgard (administrative power) through Alfheim (the 9 normal administrative ranks) or down to Helheim (competitive strength, where our eventual war clan will be ;3) through Svartalfheim (the 9 competitive ranks). Hopefully you see what I was kinda trying to get at~ but basically Astral World was to combine both the upper realms and barian world to combine both the lower.
I'm keeping Helheim separate because in the myths it is a distinct location that is below the Earth with Svartalfheim between Midgard (and its 4 bordering worlds) and it just as Alfheim is between Asgard and Midgard and its 4 bordering worlds. Well, that's why its separate from Niflheim here at least. I'm thinking Nifleheim above earth, Helheim below it.
I knew about the dark elves being in Svartalfheim but not that Nidavalir was the same thing as it. Haven't encountered much on Nidavelir. Thanks for that~ I'll look into it.
And he reason Jotunheim is the area for help and questions? The myth about a giant named "Vafthrudnir." He was wise and knowledgeable on various things and got into that famous quiz game with Odin (and lost and died).
Currently deciding what I will do with Asgard and Helheim should I incorporate them. I feel like everything (content wise) is represented fine enough the way things are now, but I'll strive to improve it ^^ Just 2 new unexpected categories. I kinda liked the way each category magically ended up having 4 forums each.
