Paul Revere: The Pendulums are Coming! (New Format Predictions)

This showcases the devastation coming for this new format when more pendulum support hits the TCG.

I feel like the upper Tier 1 list is looking like this:
Odd-Eyes Magicians: The all in OTK / Aggro deck that's more consistent than it should be. They'll lose to backrow because of their all-in concept. If you Solemn or Bottomless their P Summon once you've essentially won. And from what I know, their best first turn play is setting up indestructible pendulum scales and or summoning Vortex Dragon, neither of which is very disruptive. The deck can't afford many traps because of its focus on speed. They're consistent enough to be dangerous though.

Performapal / Performages: The Pendulum Rank 4 Spam deck. Even more consistent than Odd-Eyes Magicians but with a more reliable focus on Rank 4s. They're explosive and their recursion from the pendulum zone is part of what makes them threatening. The deck can OTK over an open field by P Summoning its entire hand but I feel like this deck is more of a grind deck taking advantage of the stupid resource advantage pendulum monsters can generate over time. They however will have a tougher time protecting their pendulum scales than Odd-Eyes Magicians so Spell Shattering Arrow, Fairy Wind, and maybe even Double Twister can be to their detriment. It only works early game though for most effect on their capabilities. Because of the Level 4 monsters I feel this deck can afford more traps.

Dracoslayer Counter Fairy: The deck in the video below. Words are not needed to describe what happened in that duel. Azneyes missplayed a few times and still gained absurd search and card advantage. Being able to search and set 3 backrow on your first turn along with having an established strong board is kinda degenerate xD For all its power and supposed hype, the idea seems kind of inconsistent though, but because Dracoslayer support can solve the problem of awkward pendulum scales on the fly, this deck could seriously have some consistency. They seem like the new Necloths though, easily dying to mistake and being discouraged by shared ride. They are good against other pendulum decks, but this one in particular seems to blatantly abuse searching.

Kozmo: The aggro beat down deck that wants to kill you fast and simply. Its such a simple yet lethal deck with pretty good consistency (some high level issues) but for such a deck it can apply a LOT of pressure and farmgirl + Emergency Teleport is such an easy OTK over an open board its kinda dumb. Literally a 2 card OTK, the rest you just search. The boss monsters and Dark Witch Floating, along with devastating access to honest, makes the deck scary and difficult to approach and punish for their over extension as well. The thing about Kozmo, your life points become just as valuable as card advantage, and a lot of monder decks and players aren't used to that concept (yet). So Kozmo is going to take Yugioh by storm because its the first linear simple aggro pressure deck in a VERY long time. The Bosses being untargetable is also cheeze. In my experience, Rainbow Kuriboh is the most annoying thing for them to deal with. Anything that disrupts their battle phase is something they do not like. Just make sure that preferably it does not target. If you can't do anything during their battle phase when they move into it you're going to die really fast. Black Horn or Heaven and Imperial Iron wall do the majority of wonders against this deck.

Majespecter / Dracoslayer: Similar in approach to the Dracoslayer Fairy deck in the video, establish a board, search a bunch of backrow, and play degeneratively. The deck can make the Dracoslayer syncro which can shuffle a card into the deck (without targeting I believe). Coupled with the Magespecter counter trap and Majespecter disruptiveness in general and you have a very disruptive deck that thrives on searching. They can also main Archfiend Eccentrick so that they have some access to spell / trap distruction. Zombie World, Mask of Restrict, and Mistake all hurt this deck. If they can't stop you during your turn, those tiny specrers are easily going to get run over. You mainly have to watch their hand advantage and guess accurately about how many cards are monsters in their hand and how many are spells / traps. If you can cut off their pendulum zone you can secure the game very easily. Spell Shattering Arrow and Fairy Wind do wonders, Malevolent Catastrophe will do even more against them since they rely on backrow. Just be careful because they can explode and come close to or actually OTK under good conditions.

Monarchs: If Dolls, Abyss, and Yang Zing were all in the top pecking order then they would be pretty degenrate. Their field spell does prevent pendulum monsters in the extra deck from coming out, so the field allows monarchs to gain resourse advantage over pendulum decks that blatantly out speed them. March of the Monarchs has never been more scary. They're not quite the new Qli, but they can play a mean controlling game. Don't be fooled though, their life blood is searching and that's the only reason they can do so much now. They easily search 3 - 4 times a turn to do their more devastating moves. Wow, looks like every deck took some notes from Necloths, huh? Even the Monarchs decided they'd get good by searching and recycling more. I got one word for you. Mistake. They'll be back to being slow and clumpy as molasses. If you Veiler Idea that will be the end of their turn. Just watch out for when they activate stormforth on your turn. The new light monarch can be tribute summoned during the opponent's turn from the hand. Also, on the field they aren't all that strong. If you blow up their field (Spell Shattering Arrow / Fairy Wind is good against them. All of their better support cards (aside from their personal Skill Drain trap card) are continuous / field spells) you can do your shenanigans and take the advantage, as long as you have some way to disrupt their play on their next turn by the time you end your current turn.

As of right now. Its looking like a bunch of Pendulum decks and Monarches / Kozmo being the oddballs that uncanily are capable of competing.

Although a bit slower, there are two decks that could come back into the picture this format:
- Blackwings (with new support)
- Geargiagear (now unlimited)

Without Exciton in the game, decks no longer have to worry about being punished for over extending.

Until BOSH kozmo by a good margin is going to be the best deck, the prices for dark destroyer being $129.99+, farm girl $90+ and straw man $60+ speaks for themselves. That's not even mentioning the other cards such as the field spell, wicked witch and forrunner. Their such a simple deck that beats your face in really fast. Not a lot of decks can deal with dark destroyer. Cards that hurt them are traps traps traps and moon mirror shield(lol).

Second close deck is majespectres, because when they go first just prepare to scoop because they can consistently go +5 with only 5 cards in hand, ending up with totem bird and a bunch of traps that will just not let you play(degenerate). They are below kozmo because they lose to too many cards....spell/trap destruction and flood gates such as, dark law, poisonous mist, mistake, skill drain, lose a turn,anti-spell fragrance,DNA surgery. Their game 1 if going first is broken but game 2 and 3 are super bad and that's why their below kozmo.

The final deck i decide to go with are infernoids, we all know if they open up monster gate/reasoning to set up their grave they are a formidable deck but at the same time with this is that they are major consistency issues. They have a good match-up against majespectres, which not a lot of deck can boast about but what you probably are going to see ruling the meta are the top dog of the meta, kozmo. Infernoid have an abysmal match-up vs kozmo even when they set up their graveyard. This issue is apparent because they can't afford to run disruption traps in their main deck and they don't have much side deck options to fight against them either. Furthermore they have a big weakness to floodgates. Decatron and lyla help with these but lets be real here, artifact lancia, retaliating "c", imperial iron wall and Necrovalley will still wreck them.

Honorable mentions: magician pendulum,Heros, stellarknights, burning abyss, nekroz, yangzings and psyframes.

Well, since the YCS San Jose results are in, Kozmo is most definitely the best deck. It beat all the current meta picks without much fanfare BEFORE the banlist kicks in. That in itself says a lot about how good that deck is. There's also a lot of ways to build it too. The plays in the feature matches just describes how different they use it from how I use it and others use it.
